Due to the recent severe weather events across Banks Peninsula, the Banks Peninsula Walking Festival has been postponed until May.
Heavy rainfall has resulted in slips, unstable ground, damaged tracks and uncertain road access in several areas. The full extent of impacts across the Peninsula is still being assessed.
Rather than proceed with uncertainty — or risk reactive cancellations once ticket sales open — we believe it is more responsible to allow time for proper inspection, recovery and considered decision-making.
This is a postponement, not a cancellation.
New Festival dates in May will be confirmed shortly. Ticket sales will open once the programme can be reconfirmed with confidence.
We appreciate your understanding and patience. Our priority is ensuring that when the Festival proceeds, it does so safely and with clarity for participants, guides and landowners alike.
