The Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust congratulates the Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust and the Queen Elizabeth II Trust for organising an excellent field trip to study the special characteristics of rocky outcrops and how to protect and manage themĀ followed by a discussion on the future of biodiversity on Banks Peninsula. The level of attendance on the day indicates the huge commitment to biodiversity made by a great number of Peninsula landowners and government agencies including DoC, Christchurch City Council and Ecan. The evening discussion, kicked off by keynote speaker tourism Professor David Simmons, covered a variety of topics including how to get young people and visitors to appreciate the importance of biodiversity and the work taking place on the Peninsula and to use it to assist with creating employment. 6/3/2013
