Walking Products

The Trust produces and publishes a suite of products documenting the many walks on Banks Peninsula to facilitate their use. You can also visit our Banks Peninsula Walks website for online information.

The Banks Peninsula Walks Directory gives a listing for each walk open the public on Banks Peninsula. Basic details are given for each walk, such as its length and difficulty, and users are then referred to the appropriate brochure for the further information needed to find and follow their chosen walk. View it on our website (bpwalks.co.nz) or purchase a hard-copy from one Banks Peninsula’s visitor centres, the  Department of Conservation counter at the Christchurch i-site and from several different quality shops including Map World, Little River Gallery and Pot Pourri in Akaroa.  The Directory makes an excellent coffee-table resource to keep at your home or bach and help plan your next walking adventure on Banks Peninsula.

We highly recommend that you also obtain a more detailed brochure to find and follow your chosen walk, as the Directory provides high level information only. Where other organisations already produce brochures, the Directory refers you to them.

The Trust itself produces six brochures to fill the gaps. These are Akaroa Village Walks, Akaroa Country Walks, Akaroa Harbour and Bays Walks, Governors Bay Harbour Hills and Heritage, Diamond Harbour Coastal and Village Loop Walks, and Lyttleton Town and Hills Walks.
