New Tūpari Reserve Packhorse Hut Track now open!

The weather played its part at the end of January for the opening of this great new track, with a huge turnout of keen walkers enjoying the event. This easy tramping track goes from the Parkinsons Road carpark in Kaituna Valley up through a section of the stunning Tūpari Reserve and on to the Packhorse Hut. There is also a shorter option which takes you to a look out point and memorial, with commanding views over Kaituna Valley.

Many thanks for all of the hard work undertaken by Mark Nixon and Megan Reynolds and their team of supporters from the Mikimiki Conservation Trust who enabled this project to come to fruition. It continues the theme of generous Banks Peninsula landowners who take great pride in their land, protecting biodiversity and are willing to share it with others for the whole community to enjoy.
