Our hearts go out to everyone who loves the Port Hills and has worked for so many years to bring back native forest and develop walking tracks along the crater rim and through the reserves. To those of you in the front line – Christchurch City Council ranger team, DOC Mahaanui area staff, Summit Road Society, and our brave firefighters – thank you for all you have done. We wait to see what has survived and what has been lost and can only hope things regenerate rapidly.
