Adventure Race!

Congratulations to Scott Smith and his team for organising the highly successful Banks Peninsula Adventure Race on Sunday December 1st.  170 incredibly fit and energetic people cycled and jogged and walked between 40to 60kms of steep peninsula terrain using the Te Ara Pataka track, with a checkpoint at Port Levy Saddle at the hub.

The event supported a group of students on a trip to Russia for the 2020 World Orienteering Championships and Cashmere School.

“Tough course and a great day” seemed to be the general feeling of participants gathered at Port Levy’s lovely old school for the finishing event.

Scott Smith congratulates the prize winners.

“It was great to see so many young people out on the hills enjoying the Peninsula”, says Trust Manager Suky Thompson, who had great pleasure in attending the event to present a night at Rod Donald Hut as one of the prizes.
