Applications are now open for our 2026 research grant.
The Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust’s vision is to create a thriving and enduring ecosystem of trails and regenerating landscapes on Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū – Banks Peninsula.
Last year the grant was focused on public access. This year the focus is on research that will contribute to our biodiversity pou. We are particularly interested in research that relates to the protection and restoration of the wetland margins of Te Roto o Wairewa and Te Waihora alongside the Little River Rail Trail. We welcome research proposals that relate to this topic or other topics that relate to protecting and restoring biodiversity on Banks Peninsula.
The recipient of the $20,000 research grant will be confirmed in late 2026 for research to be undertaken in 2027.
