Congratulations to the Whaka-Ora group for running an excellent showcase day at Living Springs. This provided a wonderful location to appreciate the beauty of Whakaraupō and to learn what the many and varied community groups are doing to improve the health of the harbour. Whaka-Ora co-chairs Yvette Couch-Lewis from Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke and Roger Grey from Lyttelton Port Company kicked off the formal part of the event and we all learnt more about the fantastic geology underpinning the landscape from Dr. Sam Hampton, one of the key people behind the push to create a Geopark for Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū/Banks Peninsula.
