Walking maps and brochures

The Trust has several walking resources to help those of you who want to explore the peninsula.  These include our new website www.bpwalks.co.nz, which gives a complete overview of all the walks available on Banks Peninsula, a hard-copy  overview book with the same information and three brochures giving details of wonderful walks in the Akaroa area.  The Trust has worked in partnership with 12 different organisations to pull the information together.

This is the first time that all the information on walks on Banks Peninsula is available to walkers in one place, and they are proving very popular – the Trust has sold close to 400 of the A4-size overview books, over 2,000 Akaroa Village Walks brochures, close to 1,800 Akaroa Country Walks, and over 800 Akaroa Harbour and Bay Walks.

The new brochures include colourful illustrations done by Christchurch artist Steve Pearce to enable users to find and follow the routes

You can purchase individual copies of the overview book and brochures at the Department of Conservation Visitor Centre in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, Scorpio Books, the Lyttelton Information Centre, Little River Craft Station, and in the Akaroa Adventure Centre and Pot Pourri in Akaroa.  Some accommodation providers such as the Akaroa Top 10 Holiday Park are also stocking the brochures to assist their customers.
