Bookings are open for the annual Banks Peninsula Walking Festival which showcases the wonderful walking opportunities on this special part of Canterbury. The festival takes part over the four weekends of November and includes many walks that highlight the work of Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust. This year there is the opportunity to visit the Rod Donald Hut with Trust manager Suky Thompson which is officially being opened to the public as part of the Festival. There is also a sneak preview of the new Purple Peak Reserve with Hugh Wilson of Hinewai, an opportunity to visit the Panama Reserve and an overnight tramp for families with young children to the newly reopened Packhorse Hut.
