Saturday proved to be perfect weather for the over 60 adventures who headed off to explore Te Ahu Pātiki to celebrate the land transfer and setting up of the new conservation park. Kātote, Ti Kōuka and Tōtara donors were invited to pick up a packed lunch and head off to enjoy a self-guided walk of their choice around the area.

The tramping style lunch was caterer for by Jan Cook, whose famous ‘ginger crunch’ brought walkers back to ‘Base Camp’ to sample another piece after their walk!

Everyone relaxed with a cuppa and some snacks after their excursion and enjoyed viewing a slideshow featuring many amazing images of the park and surrounding area.
Thanks so much to Orton Bradley Park for allowing us to use their great ‘Base Camp’ venue, and also to Halswell Butchery and Halswell New World for their donation of food towards the event.
