We want to say a huge thank-you to our Rod Donald Hut Manager David Brailsford who has been working extremely hard over the summer to upgrade the walking track down to the Hut. The stile area now has some concreted steps, uneven cross slope sections have been benched and the track shingled in many sections that didn’t require steps. The huge task of getting 3,000kg of shingle up the length of the track was made easier with the aid of a powered wheelbarrow.

Many thanks also to Banks Peninsula Transport for gifting the shingle required for this job. We are most grateful for their interest in this project and very generous donation.
David commented that during his recent time working on this project it was delightful to see many families up at the hut, many of which consisted of three generations. He also noted many visitors were from out of the area or from overseas, and was delighted to report that the hut was consistently spotless during his frequent recent visits.
