We are delighted that under Alert Level 2 the Rod Donald Hut has now been able to re-open. At this stage there will be a temporary occupancy limit of 6 people per night, to ensure there is more space in the bunk room and plenty of room for people to move about freely. It will also make it easier for groups who wish to block book the whole hut.
Thanks so much to Hut Manager David Brailsford David Brailsford who has just completed the huts annual maintenance, including a fresh new ‘paint job’ in the downstairs area.
As DOC are advising people to take their own tents when staying at tramping huts David has also set out two tent sites behind the old woolshed for those who wish to use them.
