Te Ara Māhuri is now open! Come and visit our new family friendly Nature Trail at the Rod Donald Hut. This 1km trail meanders through the bush area beyond the hut, with features including large tōtara, fuchsia groves, fern clumps, rock features, as well as viewpoints and photo points along the way.

TRACK INFORMATION
Difficulty: Walking on formed track. Mostly up and down hill.
Length: Loop Track 1.1kms or shorter ‘There and Back’ 500m (ideal for younger children.
Time: Allow 1 hour.
Safety notes:
- Children should be under adult supervision
- Caution – slippery when wet
- Track not intended for walking with large packs
- Track well-marked for day and night exploring. Make sure you take your torch at night!
- No cycling
- No dogs
- Light no fires
