Head to Head Walkway – Planning the next section

The Head to Head Walkway is an aspirational project to create a continuous walkway around the coastline of Whakaraupō/Lyttelton Harbour, from Awaroa/Godley Head to Te Piaka/Adderley Head. This recreation track is being developed in stages and the Trust is supporting this vision and working to help create new access across private land to connect up the existing sections of the route.

We are currently working with Living Springs to jointly investigate the potential for routing a section of the walkway across the lower part of their property, making the connection between Allandale and Teddington possible. A day was spent with Living Springs manager Denis Aldridge, along with Whaka-Ora/Healthy Harbour manager Karen Banwell to check out a potential scenic route, which will complete the section of the walkway from Allandale and Teddington Flat.
