The Banks Peninsula Walking Festival will be running once again in November and ticket sales are now underway and selling fast!
This event has proved to be very popular, with hundreds of walkers getting out and about to explore the Peninsula and enjoy many beautiful locations.
For the first time there is a multi-year challenge – this one is for hardy trampers with the chance to walk the whole of Kaitorete Spit over a period of five years, with QEII Trust representative Alice Shanks leading the way.
There are several family friendly options available; a nature trail at Gibraltar Rock, a ‘Kiwi Guardians’ challenge in Ōtepatotu Reserve, a night time adventure in Hinewai Reserve, the Antarctic Hut and Penguin Colony at Godley Head as well as a ‘Pirate’s Treasure Hunt’ on Quail Island.
There are a variety of options to suit all fitness levels so for anyone wanting more information you can view the Festival programme on Banks Peninsula Walks and visit Eventfinda to book walk tickets.
