The Environmental Defence Society are running the “Transforming Aotearoa” conference in Christchurch from Wednesday 4 August to Friday 6 August. The aim is to hold the government to account by analysing its environmental policy initiatives and emerging outcomes and to kick energy into the governments reform agenda.
The topic of naturally regenerating forest and the Emissions Trading Scheme is to be discussed at a pre-conference public workshop on 4 August, with Trust Manager Suky Thompson presenting on behalf of the Banks Peninsula Native Forest Climate Change Group along with Susan Secker from MPI and Sean Weaver from EKOS. This will be followed by a panel discussion and then feed into the rest of the conference. We encourage you to attend.
