Kennedys Bush Track

The Trust is concerned that Kennedys Bush Track remains closed a year after the Port Hills fires. The track is approximately 3.7km long and principally follows an unformed legal road connecting Halswell to the Summit Road, with some minor practical deviations to keep along the fence line.  It is one of the most historic walking and cycling tracks on the hills. The track is closed because the damaged pine forest it passes through is still being removed, however, work seems to be very slow and frustration amongst users is mounting. A Kennedys Bush Track Network group has started on facebook to gather support. The Trust has written to the Council urging it to move to get this important public access open.
