German astronaut Alexander Gerst snapped the Peninsula from the International Space Station recently and posted it on his Twitter account.

Seeing it brought back good memories, ”Nice view of Banks Peninsula in New Zealand. Magnificent scenery, used to hike there often,” he wrote.

Gerst is living and working as a flight engineer on the space station until November 2014.
