Refuge Ecology

Maintaining the Te Ara Pātaka walkway and its large network of tracks is a big job and this year the Trust has engaged Antony Johnson of Refuge Ecology assist with sections of the track that the Rod Donald Trust are overseeing the maintenance of.

Antony and his team did a great job working to clear the Mt Herbert Walkway connecting Orton Bradley Park to Te Ara Pātaka and the Monument Track where gorse and other weeds had been taking over the track.

Refuge Ecology are based locally, and with their knowledge of the area and objective to protect ecology and biodiversity they are the perfect choice for those requiring conservation contracting services. Visit their website to find out more.

Antony sent us this lovely photo of a native male Common Copper butterfly that he spotted while working.
